About Finance Pulse

Finance Pulse is a personal finance blog built for Millennials and Gen Z who want to take control of their money without the jargon, gatekeeping, or condescending tone that plagues most financial content.

Why we exist

Most personal finance advice falls into two camps: oversimplified ("just stop buying coffee") or overwhelming (800-page investment textbooks). Neither helps someone who is trying to figure out whether to open a Roth IRA, how to pay off student loans, or which credit card actually makes sense for their spending.

Finance Pulse fills that gap. We write detailed, practical guides that assume you are smart but not a finance expert. Every article is designed to help you make a specific decision or take a specific action with your money.

What we cover

Our content is organized around four pillars:

  • Investing: Index funds, ETFs, brokerage accounts, robo-advisors, and building long-term wealth
  • Budgeting: Budgeting methods, saving strategies, high-yield savings accounts, and getting out of the paycheck-to-paycheck cycle
  • Credit Cards: Cash back and travel rewards cards, credit building strategies, and how to use credit responsibly
  • Retirement and FIRE: 401(k)s, IRAs, the FIRE movement, and planning for financial independence

Our editorial standards

Every article on Finance Pulse is:

  • Research-based. We cite primary sources: the IRS, SEC, FDIC, Federal Reserve, and peer-reviewed studies. Not other blogs.
  • Regularly updated. Financial products change constantly. We review and update articles to keep information current.
  • Honest. When a product has drawbacks, we say so. Our reviews include clear pros and cons.

How we make money

Finance Pulse earns revenue through affiliate partnerships with financial companies. When you click certain links on our site and open an account or purchase a product, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

This is how we keep the site free. But our editorial content is never influenced by affiliate relationships. We recommend products based on our research, and our ratings and reviews reflect our honest assessment. If a product is not good, we will tell you, even if we could earn a commission from recommending it.
